In August 2023, Bobby released his fifth studio album and his first self-produced work, Pearl, recorded in Quebec. This 11-track record, inspired by the sea and created with his new collaborator Connor Seidel (1969 Collective, Charlotte Cardin, Les sœurs Boulay), explores modern jazz sounds blended with bossa nova influences, and was praised by Quebec, Canadian, and European media for its artistic maturity.
A year later, Bazini expanded his repertoire with the Stone of June EP, a collection of four more stripped-down songs recorded in a spirit of springtime spontaneity. Finally, on September 19, 2025, he will release Seul au cinéma, his second self-produced album — and his first in his native language...
“You come away from this album, Pearl — which speaks of new beginnings, love, and human nature — with the joyful flute melodies of Take It Out on Me stuck in your head, and a desire to see life on the bright side. And Bobby Bazini’s voice — still as rich, softly gravelly, and more nuanced than ever — especially his performance in the dynamic shifts of Waterfallin’, is astounding — will perfectly accompany us into the (already) nostalgic end of summer.”
(La Presse)
“Cinematic, soulful, and smoldering, Pearl aches with heated passion and raw vulnerability as Bobby Bazini finds clarity and catharsis, making peace with his demons and rediscovering himself on a deeply intimate, yet undeniably universal journey.”
(Atwood Magazine)
“Those warm summer nights have a sultry new soundtrack. YYYY”
(Mojo Magazine, London)
“A pleasant album against all odds, refusing to exist anywhere but in an endless summer. A balm for the soul and sunscreen against life’s harsh rays.”
(Le Devoir)
